The rules of the room

Community Guidelines

Equity Academy works because the room is small, serious, and high-trust. These guidelines exist to keep it that way. By joining, you agree to follow them.

1. Show up as yourself

Use your real name and a real photo. No anonymous accounts, no impersonation, no fake credentials. The whole value of this room is that everyone is who they say they are.

2. Confidentiality matters

What's shared in calls, channels, and DMs stays in the community. No screenshots to Twitter, no copy-pasting deal details to outsiders. If someone shares something private, treat it that way.

3. No pitching, no spam

Don't cold-DM members with your offer. Don't drop affiliate links in channels. Don't recruit aggressively. If you have something to share, ask first or post in the appropriate channel — and only if it's genuinely useful.

4. Be useful, not loud

Specific beats vague. Receipts beat opinions. If you're going to take up space in a channel or on a call, make it worth people's time. Lurking is fine. Posturing is not.

5. Disagree well

Strong opinions, kindly held. Attack ideas, not people. If a thread gets heated, take it to DM or drop it. We're here to learn, not to win arguments.

6. No harassment, ever

Zero tolerance for harassment, threats, slurs, or discrimination of any kind based on race, gender, sexuality, religion, nationality, or anything else. One strike removal.

7. No financial advice, no guarantees

Members share what's working for them. That's not investment advice, tax advice, or legal advice. Do your own diligence. Never present opinions as guaranteed outcomes.

8. Respect the hosts and guests

On calls: mute when you're not talking, keep questions tight, don't monopolize the room. Guest speakers are doing us a favor — treat them well.

9. Keep your profile current

Update your headline, bio, and timezone so members can actually find and connect with you. A blank profile signals you're not really here.

10. We reserve the right to remove anyone

Membership is a privilege, not a right. We can and will remove members who violate these guidelines, are repeatedly disruptive, or who simply don't fit the room — at our sole discretion, with or without a refund depending on the circumstances.

Questions about a specific situation? Email business@sorinadumitru.com before assuming. We'd much rather talk it through than remove someone over a misunderstanding.
